My son had a severe food aversion and his speech was not clear when he started therapy with Nicole.  Nowadays, he is eating a good variety of food.  He soon is not going to need feeding therapy.  Also, his speech has improved tremendously.  He loves coming to therapy because it is done in an interactive fun way for him.

Nicole has worked miracles with our child! Before coming to FFS, our child had a very limited diet.  Now he eats several types of vegetables, proteins, and pasta. Thank you FFS!!

Rachel has been a blessing for my son. His speech, self confidence and understanding of language,  has come so far and is making progress daily.  She holds a special place in our hearts.  Thank you for everything!

Ms. Esquivel, thank you very much for all the support and guidance you have given to us as parents and to our child Andrew.  You have gone beyond speech to provide us advice and bring to our attention areas in need of improvement.  Working side by side with us you have been able to get out Andrews greatest potential.

Thank you, Walter Cabrera

I cannot say enough good things about this place.  Since my child began speech therapy and occupational therapy here 5 months ago, she is a different child.  Family First Speech Therapy shares a modern and clean space with Kids Connect Occupational Therapy. The shared space is one of the best things about Family First, because the speech therapists and occupational therapists communicate with each other, and work together if needed.  The therapists also really listen to parents’ concerns, and tailor their therapies to the particular child and his or her particular issues. They will even pair certain students together if needed, i.e., if a patient needs help learning to communicating with peers.  Miss Jessica and Miss Nicole are our particular speech therapists, and they are wonderful, but all the therapists who have subbed when they are out have been good as well.

The office is well organized, and really works hard to accommodate everyone’s schedule.  This is because the front office star, Miss Carina, stays on top of everything and works tirelessly to work around patient and therapist sicknesses, holidays, work and school schedules, etc.  In addition to the Patient Account Specialist, Carina, they also employ a dedicated person to work with insurance, Miss Tina, who is also greatly appreciated.  Everyone here seems to genuinely care about the kids they are helping.  Highly recommend.

Since the beginning of my sons therapy sessions with Cris and Leslie, they have been very nice, understanding and patient. I love the dedication they put into helping my son grow and advance in life.  I appreciate everything they do.  They always inform me of the process and progress he is making in every session, which is great!

Thank you very much, Cesar's mom

Mrs. Jessica and Mrs. Nicole have been the best therapy teachers/instructors for Ethan, my son of 7 years. He has progressed significantly in a years time.  Ethan before was not at all verbal, only signed.  Now he is verbal with his opinions and his needs.  Mrs. Jessica and Nicole have been patient, loving and informative on Ethans progress and his future goals. I’m glad I found and have them as his therapist’s and even though we travel 1 hour to get to therapy it is well worth it!!

Our experience at family first and our therapist, Rachel has been absolutely fantastic. In just a few short weeks we’ve seen (and heard) a dramatic difference in both the quality of John-Michael’s speech and the number of words he says has noticeably increased.  We are excited and confident that our son will be speaking as well or even better than he signs. The future is bright for us here!!

Our son Trent, who is 7 years old and has autism, has progressed tremendously over the past year and a half.  When he first began sessions with Rachel he was completely non-verbal.  He can now say several words and is making new sounds all the time, while becoming much more engaged with people.  Rachel has also been working with him to overcome his aversion to different food textures.  We never thought we would see the day when he would try a carrot or apple.  We are so impressed with the way that Rachel works with him in a direct but fun and gentle way.  We have also been very pleased with Family First Speech’s flexibility and willingness to visit Trent’s school to provide him care.

Ms. Leila and Ms. Cris are amazing!! Their patience and dedication to my daughter is like they are working with their own child. Both are extremely knowledgeable and always are willing to answer a plethora of questions.  My daughter adores them!!

Ms. Cris is very dedicated to her profession and cares deeply about her clients. Our daughter has made tremendous strides during therapy and as a parent we are always appreciative of the special way she interacts with our daughter.  Ms. Cris possesses the qualities needed to be an excellent speech and language therapist- kind, patient and student-focused.  She is a dedicated therapist and an asset to her field.

I recently had the privilege of working very closely with Rachel Greenberg and witnessed, first hand, her strong dedication toward providing her patients with the utmost quality of care. She is an experienced, knowledgeable, & devoted Speech Therapist who is very sensitive and compassionate to the needs of each individual child and their families.  She has an innate ability to relate remarkably well to children while providing a fun, creative, & engaging approach toward speech therapy. I previously taught 12 years of preschool and, unquestionably, would recommend Rachel to any of my students in need of speech services.  She also would be my first choice of speech therapist for my own children as well.

Thank you so much Ms. Rubio, I can never be thankful enough for all your support. You have been there to work on Andrew’s schedule week by week.  You always have a smile at the office when you greet my family and you are always so kind.

Iris, has been such an important and helpful therapist for Kaiden. When we started he had a hard time understanding and now he has some words, is asking for things, and interacts more. I’m so thankful for all the help and dedication she has for Kaiden, she has really helped us out.

My daughter is a hard case. She is affected moderately with autism and severe apraxia. We have been with Family First Speech for one and half years. All these times, the therapists treated me as a partner and always adjusted the flow of the session according to my daughter’s state of regulation. My daughter is a different girl now. She enjoys her speech sessions and we can do more fun stuff than before. I can never thank Vanessa and her team enough for their patience and dedication to help us. I am very blessed to have her therapists with us!

I highly recommend Family First for speech and floor time therapy. Vanessa and her group have created something wonderful in their center. It is a place where our whole family is part of the plan and the process of our child’s program. We have seen our son blossom in the last year. He has moved from single words to having conversations with family and total strangers! Importantly, it isn’t just the words he has acquired but a desire to connect with others using language.
From family training to peer play sessions, Vanessa and her team have been instrumental to the impressive gains our child has made.

Vanessa is a wonderful therapist. She has the rare ability to combine gentleness with firmness. My daughter definitely needs to be pushed, and Vanessa knows when and how much to push her to obtain results and still keep the sessions fun. My daughter adores her, and her progress has been amazing. I’ve learned a lot myself by watching and participating in the sessions. I’ve learned how to better relate to my daughter and how to play with her more effectively. Vanessa is also always willing to answer questions regarding discipline and any other issues that come up. Her guidance has been invaluable to me.

I can say with complete confidence that Vanessa is an excellent pediatric Speech Pathologist. I am a Speech Pathologist as well but specialize in evaluating and treating adults. Working with children is an art form. I have always avoided working with children because conducting therapy while making the child feel like you are just playing with them is both exhausting and difficult. I do my best with my son but providing therapy to your own child is even more challenging. Vanessa is the third Speech Pathologist we tried. I observed the first two sessions with the other therapists and knew that they were not a good fit for my son. My son is strong willed and will easily dominate the session and do what he wants. Vanessa has the experience and gift to know how to control the session while keeping my son happy. She also had more experience than the others and that is what I was looking for. I was impressed by her in the first few minutes of watching her interact with my son. My son’s speech has improved significantly since we started therapy just over three months ago. When my son and I leave the house to go to therapy my he says, “Yay, time to see Vanessa!” I am so glad to have found her.

As a mother of a child on the Autism spectrum, you tend to get overwhelmed and see the world without color. Family First Speech Therapy helped paint a beautiful picture with my son Noah. Their approach is to meet each child at their developmental level and use whatever is relevant and important to that child to gain their attention and motivate them during therapy. What is truly awesome is that the conversation about that child and the plan for their therapy does not begin and end during their appointment; it is ongoing and continuously adapting to whatever is appropriate and needed. Thus, the picture that is Noah’s life now is not only vibrant in color it is simply magical.

What I LOVE about Vanessa is her patience, kindness, dedication and tremendous knowledge in speech and Floortime. Her incredible energy and creativity come through with every session. My son Daniel has worked with her for more than a half year. Not only has his language greatly improved, but the way he thinks and plays has made a drastic progress. We’ve been very lucky to have her. I would recommend her 100%.
